Tutorial - Disconnect
The sample application is very nearly complete. The only thing left to
do is hang up the phone. The last step in any call flow is to hang up
the phone. In fact, the default operation of AGE/RAGE is to disconnect
when there is not a Connection from the current Call Point to a
following Call Point.
In this topic we will add a Disconnect Point and connect all of the
points to gather into a Call Flow.
In this topic we will add a Disconnect Point and connect all of the
points to gather into a Call Flow.
The Disconnect Point is very simple. It simply plays a prompt
(something like "Goodby") and hangs up.
|
To
begin construction of the Disconnect Point click on the Disconnect
Insert button from the Insert Toolbar (shown at left). Alternatively,
you may select the Disconnect Point choice from the Insert Menu.
Once you have either clicked the Button or made the menu selection the
following dialog box comes up. |
A full explanation of the Disconnect Point Dialog is found in the
Disconnect Point topic. For the purposes of this sample application we
will name the Point "Disconnect" and record a Voice Segment which says
"Thank you for Calling, Good By".
When you have finished the Disconnect Point Dialog should look like
this: |
To complete inserting the Disconnect Point click on the "OK"
button. The cursor will change to a cross hair. Put the cursor at the
location you wish to insert the Disconnect Point (a good spot would be
right under the Hours point about a half inch down) and click on the
right mouse button. The application will look something like the
following illustration when you are done (NOTE: You may have to scroll
the view to get more empty Work Area. Use the scroll bar's on the right
and bottom of the Work Area to do this).
|
 |
The final thing we need to do to complete the application is to
connect the Cleat's to the points. To do this Click and Hold on the
Cleat you want to draw a line from and drag your mouse cursor down to
the Point you wish to connect to. Start by connecting the number One
cleat on Menu 1 to the Directions Play Point. This tells Menu1 that
when the caller presses 1 the next point executed should be the
Directions Play Point.
Similarly you will want to connect the number 2 cleat to the Hours Play
Point and the number 3 cleat to the Record Reservation Point.
Finally, connect the OK cleat on each of the Directions, Hours and
Record Reservation points to the Disconnect Point. When you are done
the work area will look something like this:
|
 |
Note that the lines connecting the Cleats to the Points overlap
and are somewhat messy. Each line has four points which may be moved to
clean up the appearance of the lines. These points have small squares
on them. Right clicking and dragging on a square allows you to move a
line segment to a different spot (For more information on this see the
Connections topic).After you have
cleaned up the lines the application will look more like this:

The Application is now Complete! If you wish, you could load it
onto an IVR equipped with RAGE and it is ready to start answering
calls! There is one more thing that ComTek recommends before you put it
up. That is to Test the app. The way to test without putting it onto
an IVR is to run the application simulator. To proceed to the final
step of the sample application click HERE. |
